How this world was built
The sheets that sit on the table before a show exists: characters turned from every side, mouth by mouth, pose by pose.
Wardrobe explorationsOutfits tested for each young witch, following their visual vocabulary: Mina leans on night, moon and stars; Elvira on sun, flowers and fire. 
Camera framingThe shot marked from the inside: the red rectangle is what the camera holds, the green one is where it closes in. Characters stay in flat color so the staging reads before final color exists. 
Silhouette studyFour versions of the duo tested in flat black, side by side, to check whether Mina and Elvira read apart by outline alone — one's hair, the other's skirt. 
Elvira in three lightsThe same design repainted for direct light, normal light and night. Settling it on the sheet keeps the character from drifting in color when the scene changes time of day. 
Caos the cat, turnaroundThe cat in full rotation, in color and in line, with the right scale next to Mina and Elvira and the first roughs at the foot of the sheet.
